The Original Celtic Tiger began with a question: what would an Irish tiger look like if it had stepped out of myth, memory and imagination?

The collection brings together two worlds — the strength and symbolism of the tiger, and the ancient visual language of Ireland. Hand-drawn tigers, Celtic coins, moons, wild markings and hidden details move through the design, creating a piece that feels powerful, protective and full of story.

For me, the tiger became a symbol of instinct, courage and transformation. It has a presence that is both fierce and beautiful — watchful, elegant and untamed. I wanted to pair that energy with Irish references in a way that felt contemporary rather than traditional, creating something rooted in heritage but designed for now.

Each piece begins as a hand-drawn illustration before being transformed into silk. The artwork is built slowly, with layers of detail, texture and symbolism. The tiger appears among moon-like coins and flowing forms, creating a design that shifts depending on how the scarf is folded, tied or worn.

The colour stories give each piece its own mood. Deep nocturne tones feel dramatic and protective, while teal and brighter shades bring a sense of movement, light and transformation. Across the collection, silk gives the artwork softness and motion, turning the illustration into something living.

The Original Celtic Tiger is about strength, identity and reinvention. It is an Irish story, but not in an obvious way. It looks to myth, symbolism and the natural world, then reimagines them through colour, drawing and silk.
